Hi! I’m a Mother of two, based in Kent, having completed the developing doulas course, Im a member of Doula uk and currently working through a process with a mentor to become a recognised Doula.
After two very different birth experiences myself, both in hospital environment. I have a desire to support other women through their own individual journey and to empower them to have a positive birth experience, one without fear and as calm as possible.
I have supported women and their families at home births, midwife led units and in the labour ward.
I have realised that Mothering the Mother through this life changing / vulnerable time is both richly rewarding and is often needed as consistent, individual care is often sort after by Mothers.
Through my background of teaching I’m approachable, organised and a good communicator. I’m a compassionate and caring person. I’m also extremely calm and will put you at ease throughout your labour as well as helping in practical ways.
I can support you with your birth preferences , and choices, as well as signposting you to any services that you may require. Being on call for the birth, attending the birth itself, where I can support you and your partner both emotionally and practically.
I’m not there to take the place of your partner/ family. Nor to give advice but I’m there to empower and support you and your family at this time and be an emotional, practical support whenever needed for all of you through your birth journey.
